Our Program

What makes VMCC different from other childcare options in Corpus Christi?
Vinson Morris Children’s Center offers more than childcare—we provide a high-quality early learning experience. As a nationally accredited, 4-Star Texas Rising Star program, we combine proven educational standards with a nurturing, relationship-based environment and a Christ-centered foundation.

How is your program different from a Mother’s Day Out program?
While Mother’s Day Out programs typically offer part-time care, VMCC provides a full-day, structured program with a consistent curriculum, experienced teachers, and a strong focus on preparing children for kindergarten.

Is your program academic or play-based?
We believe children learn best through purposeful play. Our teachers intentionally design hands-on experiences that build early academic skills while also supporting social, emotional, and creative development.

How do you prepare children for kindergarten?
Our Pre-K program focuses on early literacy, math concepts, independence, and social confidence—helping children enter kindergarten ready to learn and succeed.

Faith & Community

What does “Christ-centered” look like in your program?
Faith is woven into our daily experiences through weekly chapel, Bible stories, songs, and a focus on kindness, respect, and caring for others.

Do families have to be members of the church to attend?
No, we welcome families of all backgrounds and faiths.

Quality & Safety

Are you licensed and accredited?
Yes. We are licensed by the State of Texas, nationally accredited through NAEYC, and a 4-Star Texas Rising Star program—reflecting the highest levels of quality in early childhood education.

Why does accreditation matter?
NAEYC accreditation is the gold standard in early childhood education. It means our program meets rigorous standards for safety, teaching practices, and child development, giving families confidence in their child’s care and education.

How do you compare to other Texas Rising Star programs?
Texas Rising Star programs are rated from 2 to 4 stars, with 4 stars representing the highest level of quality. VMCC is proud to meet this highest standard.

What are your teacher qualifications?
Our teachers are experienced in early childhood education and participate in ongoing training to ensure they are providing the highest quality care and instruction.

How do you communicate with families?
We value strong partnerships with parents and provide regular communication through daily updates, conversations, and school-wide messages.
